Avro Vulcan B1s including XA905 of No 83 Squadron, RAF Waddington on detachment at RAAF Butterworth, Malaya c 1959. 905 was the first B1 to enter squadron service being delivered to No 83 Squadron in 1957. It was fitted from new with Olympus 102 engines of 12000 lb static thrust. (The first B1s flew with Olympus 101s of 11000 lb thrust.) 905 was converted to a B1A in 1960 and retired to RAF Newton (date uncertain) as an instructional airframe. 905 was scrapped in 1974.
