720B of Air Malta and Avro Vulcan B2 XL317 of No 617 Squadron at RAF Luqa,
Malta in 1975. Behind the B720 are RAF Ops and the control tower. At the
B720's wingtip is a Canberra. The B720 is rolling for take-off on the
then main runway. In 1978, a new longer runway was opened but RAF crews
were not permitted to use it — a case of politics coming before flight
safety.
