Crewing-in at Goose Bay. Baggage and immersion suits indicate a return flight to RAF Waddington for XL386 of No 44 (Rhodesia) Squadron (though in this instance 386 was U/S which explains everybody hanging around). Crewing-in in winter at the Goose was done inside the hanger. Switches were set and the Rover AAPP was started as the aircraft was pushed back through the hanger doors. After push-back, the engines were started (typically one rapid and crossfeeding). |
