This
gallery features photographs of Vulcan B2s at Goose Bay in Labrador
and at Offutt AFB in Nebraska. Detachments by individual aircraft
to Goose Bay for low-level training were called 'Goose Rangers' and
detachments to Offutt AFB were called 'Western Rangers'. From Offutt,
crews flew USAF low-level routes known as 'Oil Burners' or 'Olive
Branches' that typically ended with a couple of runs on an RBSU/EW
(radar bomb score unit/electronic warfare) range. Crews flew Goose
Rangers more frequently that Western Rangers and the latter were often
combined with a Goose Ranger resulting in a 'Combined Ranger' or 'Goose-Western
Ranger'.
