Avro
Vulcan B2 XM595 of the Scampton Wing at RAF Scampton. Though technically
still on the strength of the Scampton Wing, some free-fall aircraft
allocated to No 27 Squadron received a Day-glo 'Dumbo' on returning
from conversion from Blue Steel to free fall. 595 returned to Scampton
in January 1970 and this photograph was probably taken later that year.
To the left of the 'Dumbo' is a Dayglo goose, applied by a Goose Bay
servicing team, but the origin of the Dayglo penguin at the top of the
fin is unknown.
