No 83 Squadron scrambles at RAF Scampton in June 1963 during a visit by HM the Queen. The aircraft on the right can be identified as Vulcan B2 Blue Steel XL427. The aircraft on the left is known to be XL425. The lead aircraft (out of sight) was XL392. The middle aircraft remains unidentified but is almost certainly one of XL426, 443, XM571, 572 or 573. Dick Storer remembers:

"...I'm in XL425 in the No 4 slot. This was the demo which took 69 seconds from nothing running to my wheels off the ground."
