Avro Vulcan B2 Blue Steel XL390 of the Scampton Wing at RNAS Lossiemouth in 1968. 390 was delivered as a 201-engined B2 free fall to IX Squadron in July 1972. Between March 1964 and May 1965, 390 was retrofitted to a 301-engined B2 Blue Steel and delivered to the Scampton Wing. 390 was converted back to free fall (Dec 69 - April 70) and remained at Scampton, being allocated to No 617 Squadron in June 1971. 390 was lost in July 1978 when it crashed practicing for a display at Glenview NAS, Chicago.
